Many of us were never given space to feel anger in a way that felt safe or supported.
Maybe you learned to push it down, smooth it over, or turn it inward. And over time, that can start to show up as overwhelm, anxiety, numbness, self-doubt, or a quiet sense that something just feels off.
This retreat was created with that in mind.
Anger isn’t something we need to fear. Instead, it’s a natural, protective emotion that can offer important information about your needs, your boundaries, and what matters to you.
In Warming Up, we’ll begin to explore it slowly, softly, and at your own pace.

In Warming Up, our intention is to gently begin loosening the shame many of us carry around anger.
Together, we’ll start to explore the idea that anger can be supportive and something we all experience, while also getting curious about how it shows up uniquely for you.
We’ll offer simple, nervous system–informed practices to help you begin to safely feel, express, and move through anger, all within a supportive community.
And there will be space for you to take this exploration at your own pace, with time to reflect and connect with yourself in a way that feels right for you.

You’ll be guided through a series of gentle experiences designed to help your nervous system feel safe, supported, and able to approach anger with curiosity.
We’ll explore anger through a nervous system lens, offering simple ways to understand how it functions in the body and why it can be an important part of protection, boundaries, and truth.
You’ll be introduced to somatic practices that help you notice how anger shows up in your body, how sensations may shift as emotions arise, and how to move that energy in ways that feel steady, contained, and supportive.

What to Expect
Community
Join a supportive, welcoming group of women who also want to move through their anger. Through gentle connection and shared reflection, we'll practice somatic exercises together in a nonjudgemental setting so we all feel safe and cared for.
Gentle Environment
This space is intentionally gentle, calm, and supportive. We’re not here to push you into intense emotional experiences or to encourage yelling or heightened activation. Instead, we’ll move slowly, focusing on softening shame and building a sense of safety with your anger. Together, we’ll explore how it shows up for you in a way that feels grounded, steady, and within your comfort, so you can begin to relate to it with more understanding and care.
Support
The retreat is led by two licensed therapists who share a commitment to helping women feel seen, supported, and understood without pressure to perform or shrink themselves. Both therapists draw from lived experience and somatic, trauma-informed principles, which allow them to hold space with clarity, safety, and genuine care.
Guided Meditation
Settle into your body with a calming meditation designed to nourish your nervous system and cultivate internal safety, presence, and curiosity.
Self-Guided Creative Exploration
Move at your own pace through several stations throughout the space designed to deepen your personal healing and reflection. You'll be able to practice somatic exercises and activities that you can recreate at home.
Somatic Practices
Anger carries energy, information, and momentum. In this portion of the retreat, we’ll work with that energy through somatic practices that help you feel, shape, and direct anger without losing yourself to it. With support from breath, movement, sound, and grounding, you’ll learn ways to tend your inner flame so anger can be expressed and integrated rather than ignored, feared or suppressed.
Lunch and Refreshments
Light refreshments and a nourishing lunch will be provided. All food is offered with care, free from diet talk, and focused on enjoyment and comfort.
Take Home Goodies
Leave with a few meaningful tools to continue holding anger with curiosity and compassion long after our time together.

"I hope you do more of these in the future. I'll be bringing my best friend, my sister, and honestly every woman I know because we could all use something like this."
"You thought of everything, and I'm just so glad I got to be a part of it."
"I loved everything about the She Rises retreat! The only feedback I have is that I wish it had been longer!"
"I'll be making the trip for every single retreat you host. Because if that was your first one, I can't imagine how much better they'll get over time."
"A day of self reflection, affirmation, safety, support, and fun! I will be carrying the joy, serenity, and empowerment today brought me for a long time to come."
"This day was exactly what I needed. I didn't realize how much I needed to slow down and get back in touch with myself. Thank you!"
"What a special treasure today was. Feeling so empowered, seen and affirmed. Thank you!!!"
"Today was what my soul needed right now. To be surrounded by wonderful women and give myself space to be. Thank you."
We hope you leave feeling a little more connected to your inner clarity, intuition, and quiet strength. Anger may begin to feel a bit less intimidating, and more like something that’s trying to communicate with you rather than something you need to push away.
Our intention is that you begin to find ways of expressing anger that feel safe, supportive, and aligned with your body.
We also hope you feel a sense of connection here. We hope you’re reminded that you're not alone in this, and that there is something powerful about being in a space where others are gently doing this work too.
You might notice yourself feeling a bit more settled, a bit more compassionate toward yourself, and a little less weighed down by the shame that may have once surrounded your anger. More than anything, we hope you leave feeling more at home in your body, and more open to trusting what’s already within you.
Meet Jess Fry, LPC, ADHD-CCSP, CSTS
Licensed Therapist, Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, Body Confidence Coach, Educator, and Founder of EmBODY Confidence

Jess Fry specializes in supporting women as they navigate eating disorders, body image distress, anxiety, ADHD, and chronic self-criticism. Her work sits at the intersection of mental health, nervous system regulation, and body acceptance. Jess provides in-person therapy in Ephrata, PA, telehealth services throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and virtual coaching to clients worldwide.
Jess brings both clinical expertise and lived experience to her work. She knows firsthand what it is like to move through a world that teaches women, especially those in larger bodies, to be quieter, more polite, or easier to manage. Her own healing journey includes recovery from an eating disorder, untangling body dysmorphia, and unlearning cultural messages about worth, productivity, and appearance. This embodied understanding allows her to guide others with nuance, safety, and steady compassion.
At the core of Jess’s work is the belief that healing happens when people feel seen, regulated, and resourced rather than pushed or pathologized. She supports women in reclaiming authenticity through somatic practices that help them trust their inner experience and release shame around their feelings, needs, and desires. Her approach is rooted in body acceptance, social justice, and a deep commitment to helping women reconnect with their inherent worth. Through counseling, coaching, and immersive experiences, Jess creates spaces where participants can slow down, listen inward, and care for themselves in ways that are sustainable, affirming, and deeply human.
Meet Samantha Grimaldi, MS, LPC
Licensed Therapist, Educator, Consultant, and Founder of CoCreate Healing Center

Samantha Grimaldi is a licensed mental health therapist, educator, and consultant, and the founder of CoCreate Healing Center. She specializes in working with women navigating complex trauma, chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, and the ways the nervous system holds anger, grief, and long-standing patterns of survival. Her work is grounded in nervous system work and a deep respect for the wisdom of the body. Samantha provides trauma-informed psychotherapy services in New Jersey, along with trainings, groups, and immersive experiences for clinicians.
Samantha brings both clinical depth and lived experience to her work. As an eldest daughter and lifelong caretaker, she knows what it is like to carry responsibility early, stay composed on the outside, and learn to suppress anger in order to stay connected and safe. Her own healing has involved untangling those patterns, listening to the body’s signals, and reclaiming agency, voice, and choice. This personal understanding shapes the way she holds space with attunement, presence, and an emphasis on safety.
At the heart of Samantha’s work is the belief that anger is not something to manage away, but something to be understood, honored, and integrated through nervous system awareness. Her approach centers on regulation, choice, and self-leadership, helping women move out of chronic activation or shutdown and into a felt sense of presence and power. Through therapy, trainings and consultation, Samantha creates spaces where women can slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and meet their anger not as a problem but as information, energy, and a pathway back to themselves.
